Description
Having a great résumé is a must to obtain employment. This workshop consists of a lecture segment, independent research, data gathering, and résumé writing steps. You will have the opportunity to have your current résumé critiqued. In addition, resources will be provided including books, websites and samples for you to review when creating your own résumé. Formatting and content attributes which are unique to résumés will be discussed: 1) common résumé sections such as objective, professional summary/profile, experience, competencies, technology skills, education, certifications/licensures, professional affiliations; 2) the differences between functional, combined and chronological résumés; 3) tailoring résumés to meet specific job postings; 4) keywords, including demonstrating http://www.onetonline.org/ .Please bring a hard/paper copy of your résumé for review. If you do not have a résumé, an outline will be provided so you may begin the process. Prerequisites: You must be registered with Department of Labor.
