Description
The United States Department of Labor, Employee Benefits Security Administration wants to help you better understand how work and life changes can affect your health coverage. Changes in your life – such as losing your job or starting a new one, getting married, or having a baby – can impact the health coverage you and your family receive from your employer’s health plan. This workshop will help you understand what rights you and your family have under federal health benefit laws so that you can make timely and informed decisions when you need to. The laws covered in this workshop include COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, and the Affordable Care Act. This workshop will provide practical information about how you can maintain or obtain health coverage for you and your family when work or life changes happen to you. Join us to find out now how to make your health benefits work for you. ***Please note you must have an active registration with the NYS Department of Labor to access our free workshops and services. Please use the same email address that is on file with the NYS Dept. of Labor so that we may cross check your registration and send you a workshop link. Workshop registration closes two hours prior to the event and/or when the workshop is full.
